“From my earliest years, the vivid personal stories of the Spanish Civil War and its brutal aftermath that my grandparents, Juliana and Ramón, shared contrasted sharply with the silence in my history books. These narratives, filled with pain and resilience, highlighted a stark reality: in Spain, significant parts of our collective past are systematically ignored or hidden beneath layers of enforced forgetting.

While inspired by the specific context of Spanish history, "NO DUERME NADIE" seeks to transcend these boundaries, inviting audiences to find echoes of these themes in their own memories and the histories of their countries. This performance is not a dramatic recount or a documentary portrait, but a postdramatic landscape where we do not seek answers but are compelled to ask, persistently: When will these contentious histories be acknowledged and integrated into our national narrative without fear or repulsion?” - Javier Cárcel Hidalgo-Saavedra, Director
